Stage prescription
Stage 2: Schladming – Reiteralm – Schladming 64 Km / 3.200 vm (changes of the route are possible)
From the main square it goes again neutralized towards the end of the town. The first section leads on good paths over the Landalm in the direction of the Reiteralm. After 13.5 km we reach the parking lot at the Preunegg Jet Lift, from now on there is a single track over the ski slopes up to the King/Queen of the mountain classification. The 700 vm up here to the first feedingstation on the Reiteralm that the riders have to overcome are very steep. But up here at 1740 meters, the riders and supervisors can enjoy a wonderful mountain panorama. The 9 km long descent also leads over the ski slopes in the direction of the Urspungsalm, which is definitely fun. The long climb up to the Giglachsee begins at km 30, on the way there at km 37.5 there is a short break at the feedingstation of the rustic Ursprungalm before it really gets steep. The route leads over good mobile hiking and forest trails. The Giglachsee is at 1954m and makes every biker’s heart beat faster when you see it.
From km 40 it’s downhill, on partly technical passages to the third refreshment station on the Landalm, 9 km before the finish. Then it’s time to take another deep breath to manage the last 2 km climb to the Planai descent. After a 3 km long descent, which is still peppered with some flow trail passages, you reach the finish of the second and probably most difficult stage of the Alpentour in the Planai Stadium.
